Sobre este artículo

London / New York: Frederick Warne, 1992. As New condition in Near Fine dust jacket. Sharp corners. Bright, shiny, clean, square, tight, and unmarked. Obviously never read. NO owner's name or bookplate. NO remainder mark. NOT a book club edition. NOT price clipped (£17.99 / $20.00). NO chips. NO tears. Jacket would be FINE but for a tiny crimp at the top of its spine. 8" wide by 10" tall. First printing with "First published 1992" so stated and complete number row (13579 10 8642) on the copyright page. Beautifully illustrated with hundreds of photos and drawings (some in full color), plus many reproductions of Potter's original handwritten letters and sketches. Includes Potter's letters to various children where for the first time she told the Peter Rabbit stories [Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Peter]. "The chief recipients [of these letters] were the family of [Beatrix Potter's] former governess, Annie Moore… As she became established as an author she continued to write to young relatives, members of her publisher's family and the enthusiastic fans who loved her books… The picture letters and miniature letters are shown in facsimile and the book is illustrated with photographs and Beatrix Potter's own drawings. Judy Taylor has introduced each section with an account of the children who received the letters, many of whose stories have never been told before. The result is an intriguing and attractive book that reveals much new information about Beatrix Potter and above all demonstrates her unfailing power to beguile children and adults alike." Bound in the original red boards, lettered in shiny gold on the spine.. First Printing of the First Edition. Oversize Hardcover. As New condition/Near Fine dust jacket. 240pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.

Sobre About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
