This set of four books was privately printed for members of London's Casanova Society in 1923. The Casanova Society's brief existence lasted from 1922 - 1926, and this was their second publication.This is a Limited Edition. Sets numbered 1 to 750 were of sixteen volumes, and sets numbered 751 to 2250 were of four volumes. The set being offered for sale here is Set #844, complete in four volumes. The set is in good condition with some rubbing at the edges, corners and hinges, and occasional spotting. Each volume is numbered - 844 - which shows a complete original set. Each of the volumes is signed on the title page by Ellsworth Fleming of the Casanova Society, and each is also signed by Fleming again on the following page which describes the publication of the volumes. This set will provide many long evenings of enjoyable reading, and will make a fine addition to your library of classic literature. A fine, three-volume set of the works of Moliere published in the late 19th-century. This 1883 English edition was published in London and features introductory and notes by Charles Wall of Brighton College. Like other complete works of Moliere, this example includes his most famous works such as The Misanthrope, Tartuffe, the Impostor, and Don Juan.
First volume has a B&W illustration of Moliere at the title page.
Books are in Fine/Great condition! Just slight wear/staining on the covers. Corners are bumped a bit. Interiors are in Great condition! Really a lovely set and in Fantastic condition for being over 130 years old!

Berkeley:: Burton Weiss & James Musser,, 1999.. Limited Edition. A Fine, unread copy. This copy is number 31 of only 65 copies quarter-bound by John DeMerritt in cloth and marbled paper boards. In 1955 at the age of 21, the unknown writer Richard Brautigan had been living in Eugene, Oregon with the family of Edna Webster that was not his own; He was also preparing to leave Oregon for San Francisco to make his mark as a writer. In gratitude for Edna's generosity, he signed over to her the ownership rights to all of his heretofore unpublished fiction and poetry manuscripts. From 1955 until 1992, Edna Webster retained all of the Brautigan material that he gave her in a safe deposit box until she sold the archive to a rare bookseller in the Bay area. After placing the collection in the Bancroft Library, the bookseller arranged for the publication of the prose and poems that appears in this volume. The material is classic Brautigan and considered some of his best .
