Harper's Family Library No. LVI. Notes and life of Euler by Brewster and additional notes by John Griscom. This is volume two of a two-volume collection of published letters by 18th century Swiss mathematician and scientist Leonhard Euler. The letters in this second volume were written in 1761-62 and concern philosophy, astronomy, optics, magnetics, longitude, electricity, weather, and the wonders of the human voice. Many figures. Glossary of scientific terms at rear. Four pages of publisher ads at rear. ; Ex-Library; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 436 pages .
