This is a collection of letters written by Virginia Galilei, the elder daughter of Galileo, to her father after she was placed in a convent in Florence and took the named Suor Maria Celeste, captures the events of the time and brings to life the tender, inspiring relationship between Galileo and his daughter. The 124 letters detail life in the 17th century, news of the management of his estate while he was on trial, details of the plague which swept across Italy, The letters by Galilio to his daughter have not survived. Postage is $6.99 US, media mail for the first book the US weighing up to 2 pounds; $3.00 for each additional book for shipping by media mail to the US for books weighing up to 2 pounds. Books weighing more than 2 pounds, and priority shipping will be quoted. We are glad to quote delivery cost to international buyers. Books are carefully wrapped and shipped in corrugated cardboard cartons. Books are returnable for a full refund if the book is not as described.
