Inscribed by Edith ''Edie'' Scott Lynch, the owner of the letters, on verso of ffep. Letterpress printed by Maria Epes at The Godine Press. Quarter faux-vellum over black cloth with matching paper over boards slipcase. Book is fine. Slipcase shows scuffing on one side. ff. 32. 9.5 x 7 inches. 23 letters written by Rupert Brooke (1887-1915) addressed to Frank Sidgwick of the firm Sidgwick & Jackson, who in 1911 issued Poems, Brooke's only non-posthumously published book. Includes about a dozen accompanying facsimiles. The original manuscripts had been the property of the collector and would-be biographer of Brooke, Henry Lewis Batterman, Jr., and had been passed on to his niece Edith Scott Lynch.
