Sobre este artículo
London UK: Darton and Harvey. Very Good with No dust jacket as issued. 1837. First Edition. Hardcover. Pages appear somewhat discolored, map discolored and worn but still intact ; It appears the book has been rebound in a modern binding, 3/4 dark red leather over dark rust red cloth. Spine has gilt stamped titles and decorations with raised bands. Ten B&W illustrations by Underwood with tissue guards. Fold-out map facing title page. Text block is tight, hinges intact ; Small 8vo 7½" - 8" tall; 263 pages; William Lloyd recounts a trip to the West Indies with friends in the form of very detailed letters home. His friends were Thomas Harvey, Joseph Sturge, English Quaker and abolitionist and John Scoble, also an abolitionist. They were especially concerned about the effects of indentured servitude on the slaves in the West Indies. Harvey and Sturge wrote about their own observations in "The West Indies in 1837" which prompted Lloyd to put the letters to his father into book form. Scarce in first edition. .

Sobre Ainsworth Books
Ainsworth Books was for many years a bricks and mortar store in Vancouver, BC. When we acquired the store, we moved to a location in Delta. After three years we moved the stock home and started operation as an online, by appointment only operation. I have worked with books my whole adult life and enjoy giving recommendations.
