From the author's Introduction: "It is my object in these letters to point out to you in a familiar manner whatever occurs to me as likely to aid you, and which the books do not say much about. I shall not be perfectly methodical, yet I shall endeavor to hold to some plan."
Condition:
Clean front cover and spine; stain spots on the back cover; tiny cloth tears at the top 2 corner tips; bright gilt lettering on the spine. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. The pages are lightly age-toned but clean with only a tiny tear at the outer edge of pages 3-10. A front end paper has an old inscription written in pencil to a doctor. Overall the book is in very good condition.
