A nice-looking copy of a scarce item, a fine contribution to the series, Pierre Louys et L'histoire Litteraire, being a collection of letters between Pierre Louys (1870-1925) to Louis Lachevre (1855-1947). Original printed paper wrappers in gate-fold, showing a little wear and discoloration, else clean and unmarked. Some toning to first free endpaper and recto, perhaps where a loose review item might have lain. Louÿs was an extremely well known and loved French poet and writer who was initially made first a Chevalier and then an Officer of the Légion d'honneur for his contributions to French literature. Frederic Lachevre was a Parisian bibliophile extraordinaire, publisher, literary critic, poet and novelist. Like Louys, Lachevre was interested also in erotica, sexuality, sensuality and including lesbian existence.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
