Original black cloth spine with a printed paper spine label; printed paper over boards. Back cover bears an advertisement for the author's Cours D'Histoire Recontée aux Enfants et a la Jeunesse. Series title page inscribed: Ellen Bayard 1413 Mass Ave Washington, D.C. Ellen Bayard (1869-1932) m. Count Reinhold A. Lewenhaupt (d. 1891). The series title page indicates that the series of which this volume is a part was based on "la Méthode Ãlémentaire de M. Lévi." In Fair Condition: front cover partially detached; small section at head of spine and larger section at tail of spine lacking; covers are stained; back cover rubbed; back fixed endpaper has been replaced; p. 23-24 detached, but present; a few, scattered pencilled notations.
