Sobre este artículo

Paris: Jean Bienné, 1578. Boards. Very Good. Octavo (18 cm); 39 pages, A-B8 C4. Greek and roman types. Modern boards. References: Renouard, "Imprimeurs et libraires parisiens" III (Bienné), p. 501, #695.

Varennius (d. 1536) was a Belgian scholar and author of two very popular Greek texts: a syntax (1532) and the present booklet on accentuation and prosody (first published posthumously in 1542). They were both reissued continually well into the 17th century. To the present edition has been added the brief tract on Greek dialects by the Hellenist Adrien Amerot (d. 1560).

Sobre Rodger Friedman Rare Book Studio

Rodger Friedman Rare Book Studio owes its name and its inspiration to the traditional Italian studio bibliografico. These small antiquarian bookshops, typically run by individuals who combine deep scholarship with a love of the printed object, remind us that underlying the words "study" and "studio" is the Latin term for zeal and devotion, studium. Since 1993, my goal has been to match discerning collectors with extraordinary books and manuscripts.
