Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1928. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Fine/Near Fine. 8vo., 410pp. Beautiful First Edition, Stated "First Impression of the Trade Edition". Bound in original 1/4 navy cloth over light blue paper-covered boards. Titles on paper label on spine. t.e.g. Illustrated. There was concurrently published a signed, limited edition. Another volume of the great collector's witty essays revolving around book collecting culled from the pages of Atlantic Monthly Magazine, among others. Square, tight and clean throughout with little or no wear. Just a touch at the heel and mildly toned board edges. Remarkably well-preserved and feels unread. Very attractive unclipped dust-jacket, ($5.00 net), has some tiny nicks and closed tears. Small piece of reinforcing tape on the reverse but invisible from the front. Quite fresh and bright. A very pretty collectable copy at a great price.
