London: Tate Gallery for the Yale Center for British Art, 1981. First edition. Hardcover. Very good/fair. 427p, nearly 400 ills., 33 in color. White paint spatters on jacket, as shown. A handsome and meticulous descriptive bibliography of one of the great private sporting libraries (now at Yale). The collations are especially useful for early books and plate books. Emphasizes, but is not limited to, the Thoroughbred and its uses. Paul Mellon was quite involved with its production, including the choice of illustrations. Heavy; shipping/handling will be extra. Please keep this in mind when ordering.
