This is a volume from the Time-Life Classics of the Old West series, and is a facsimile reprint of the work originally published in 1894 (that edition now rare). Frank Grouard served as a scout under General George Crook. Captured by the Sioux when he was nineteen, Grouard spent seven years in the camps of Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse. These memoirs were formed from interviews Joe De Barthe, a newspaper correspondent, conducted with Frank Grouard in the early 1890s. Listed in Six-Guns, Number 574; Luther's High Spots Number 33.
