Spine bands and panel edges worn. Front hinge starting. Gilt-blocked titles to spine with gilt-crossed raised bands. All edges marbled. Provenance: from the library of Walter Butler with his inked stamp. Some very light foxing around the engraved half-title and facing frontis (with tissue guard) - otherwise, text block is quite clean and sound. Remains particularly well-preserved overall; tight, bright, clean and strong.; 8vo 8"" - 9"" tall; 624 pages; Physical description: xiv, 624p. Illus. , plates, frontis. ; 22cm.
