Edges of binding well rubbed, but still sound and sturdy.Housed in custom cloth slipcase. xvi, 624 pp. 39 plates, title vignette. First edition in book form. Internally, good to very good, with varying degrees of foxing, mostly to plate leaves. First issue, with errata leaf listing ten errors. This copy also has the transposed pound sign on the title vignette, no longer considered a sign of priority. (Subject: Literature.) Very Good. (Subject: Literature).
