A cultural, artistic history of our country with profuse illustrations , compiled from the collections of the etropolitan Museum of Art and other sources by the author, who was Editor of Pubications at the Museum at that time. Original red cloth with no edge wear to both volumes. bright titles on the spine and insides are clean and tight. No smudges, browning or prior owner marks. Volume one does not have a dust jacket. Volume two has a good dj, worn, with a piece missing from the top of the spine. A tear is repaired on the verso. A very readable, optomistic history from just after WW Two. The publisher's flimsy slipcase is in remarkably good condition with edge wear. Pages 573 and 503.
