Hardcover has brown cloth-covered boards with elaborate floral and geometric decorations and lettering on the spine and front cover. Title in relief on front cover on black background. "Alta Edition" in center of decorated panel on front cover. Gold spine panel with title in black. Spine states "Illustrated" but book only has one illustration, a black and white frontispiece. Glazed light brown endpapers. Blue silk index ribbon. NOT ex-library. Hinges NOT cracked. Binding tight. Front free endpaper slightly pulled but still strong. Corners and spine ends bumped and rubbed, with minor fraying at tips. Spine slightly faded. Quarter-inch light stain on front cover. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Pages clean and unmarked. 489 pages plus 2 pages advertisements. No dust jacket. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
