Sobre este artículo

Toronto: J.S. Robertson & Brothers, 1887. Book. Good. Hardcover. 1st thus.. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. A salesman's sample, consisting of a frontispiece (boasting Beecher's facsimile signature -- since Beecher is referred to in the past tense in Howard's introduction, it is most unlikely that he rose from the grave to sign much of anything), title page, preface (2), list of illustrations (2), various sections inconsistently numbered text pages (about 125 of them), and at rear, an advertising page and 16 unused lined pages for the names/addresses/binding preference of those signing up to buy a copy. Butterscotch cloth covers w/floral illustration, gilt lettering, top and fore-edge gilt, illustrations. Bumped/worn/scraped corners/spine ends, minor scuffing/soil, one illustration half separated from text block, some internal soil, 1" tear to fore-edge of one of the pages numbered 103/4 (there are two pages 103/4 [don't ask me why], moderate general wear. With the exception of the half-separated illustration, contents are tight. An uncommon item of its type..
