Chicago: R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company - The Lakeside Press, 1914. Red hardcover cloth binding has a bit of soiling to front cover, slight shelfwear top and bottom of spine, interior clean and tight. Slightly yellowing pages. 254 pages plus a few ads. Sepia toned photos throughout. Front endpaper notation (as printed not actually handwritten) states the following: "1884 - 1914 on its Thirtieth Anniversary April 7 1914 the Manitowoc Savings Bank organized April 7 1884. Presents this Book with its Compliments = John Schuette Pres, Lois Schuette V.Pr, Edward Schuette xxx, Henry xxx." Script not entirely decipherable. Author was a member of the Wisconsin State Senate from 1875 to 1876, and had also been an alderman and Mayor in Manitowoc. He died in 1919. Frontage page states: The story of John and Rose who began married life on an income of $900.00 a year shows the comforting results attained by strict economy, systematic house and bookkeeping, and their accumulations to their Olden Age.. Illus. by photographs. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Very Good/No Jacket.
