Sobre este artículo

Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company. Near Fine. 1915. Half Leather. Stated seventh impression, 1915. A deluxe two-volume set presenting the life and letters of John Hay (1838-1905). Beginning with his stint as a personal secretary to Abraham Lincoln, Mr. Hay went on to a lengthy distinguished career in Washington, including as a diplomat and Secretary of State and trusted advisor to several other U.S. Presidents. Each volume with a tissue-guarded photographic portrait of Hay at different times in his life, as well as several other plates bearing black & white photos of people and scenes described in the book. --- In blue half leather on blue/grey/cream marbled paper-covered boards with 5 raised bands on each spine; matching marbled endpapers. With gilt-stamped spine titling & decorations, other gilt rules to covers. TEG (top edges gilt) and other edges deckled. --- An exceptionally well-preserved set: bright, tightly-bound and lacking noticeable damages.
