New York: The MacMillan Company, 1902. Volume 1, 471 pages. Volume 2, 547 pages. Both volumes: Frontispiece illustrated with b/w plates with tissue facing. Volume I illustrated with 24 additional plates and 7 illustrations of maps and plans. Volume 2 has 21 plates and 16 maps/plans. Volume 1, frontispiece and half title page have some foxing and text has few pencil marks in margins, otherwise both volumes pages good condition. Previous owner's book plate on both front paste down endpapers. Green cloth with gilt title on spines. Boards show wear, scratches and spots. Edges, head/tail of spine and corners worn and bumped. GOOD+.
