First edition. Illustrated with two colour plates, four photogravure plates, and eight black-and-white plates from photographs. Collated complete. An account of wildlife and sport in north-west Hampshire, a district of large woods and clean streams and downs. This work explores the woodland, birds and their voyages, the estuaries, rivers, and insects of the wildlife of Hampshire. Written by George Albemarle Bertie Dewar, a British writer. Illustrated by Archibald Thorburn, a Scottish artist who specialised in wildlife watercolours. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear to the extremities. Light fading to the spine and small splits to the cloth at the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Light age toning to the endpapers. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
