New York: D. & J. Sadlier & Company, 1877. First US Edition. Hard Cover. Used; Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Normal wear for age, plus chipped top, bottom, and title area of spine; newspaper article between pages 32 and 33 has left browning on those pages. Dark red cloth binding with gilt inlaid titles; 483 pp. This is an extremely rare book. Chalippe's work is hard to find in any translation, and I haven't found one other copy of this version that is available for purchase. St. Francis is much beloved and the story of his life is truly inspiring.
