Sobre este artículo

Edinburgh: Edinburgh University Press, 1970. Hardback. Octavo. 224 pages. Illustrated with a b&w plate showing a page from the author's 'Little Weather Journal', a facsimile of the title page of the 1789 first edition and 8 b&w reproductions of engravings from that edition by Johann Rudolph Schellenberg. First edition in English of this classic of Swiss literature, the picaresque autobiography of a lowly cloth worker translated from the German by Derek Bowman who also provides a Preface, a critical Introduction and a set of notes and references. Good in Fair jacket. Spine has some rubbing to its gilding and wear at its ends. Tinted top edge of the text faded with several small foxed spots. Jacket has obvious wear and creasing to its edges, particularly along its top, a sunned spine and faded edges. There is a small loss in its front top corner and a closed tear to the front top edge. The front also has a closed tear to the spine fold, near the bottom, while the back has picked up a scratch and a few other faint marks.

Sobre Alex Richardson

Online bookseller with a growing list of finds and a dedication to accurate description, careful packing and prompt fulfillment. Aiming for "eclectic", hoping at least for "miscellaneous but interesting".
