The pastedowns and endpapers are matchibg marbled papeer .Four ribs on the spines . The bindings are tight on the large books . Name of previous owner on title page of each volume . No other marks in the books . Light foxing in both books . George Tucker was a Professor at Jefferson's University of Virginia . . He had been nominated for his post there by James Madison .He prints a letter here sending a copy of the book to madison and Madison's response to it . This book is generally regarded as the first biography of Jefferson . This copy would be a worthy addition to the library of any collector of Jefferson material . .
