Sobre este artículo

This is a handsome set of "The Life and Times of OLIVER GOLDSMITH" by John Forster. 1871 5th edition (stated); Chapman and Hall; London. Complete set in two volumes. Each volume contains an engraved frontispiece with tissue guards, as well as in-text illustrations and facsimile documents. Nicely bound in three-quarter leather with marbled boards, marbled end papers, marbled page edges on all sides, and spines with gilt decorations and five raised bands. Each volume contains an Appendix; there is an Index at the back of volume II. Condition: Some rubbing/peeling of the leather at the corners and at the edges of the spines. Wear to the cover corners. Both volumes are tightly bound with no cracks and no loose pages. Nice interiors - each volume has clean pages that nearly appear unread with no notable issues found; the half title page of volume II has "136" written in pencil at the top-right corner. There is a thin, tanned strip at the inner edge of pages 416 and 417 in volume 1 from a small strip of paper left between them. Overall the set is in Very Good condition.
