Originally published in 1899, these are Very Good (Plus) copies of the "New Edition," a sympathetic early biography. Maroon cloth binding with highly decorative gilt designs on the spine. Two volumes, 375 pages and 364 pages, indexed. Clean text; endpapers foxed; bookplate on the front paste-down of Volume One. A very attractive set, in solid condition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Thus.. Decorative Cloth. Very Good Plus/No Jacket.
