Signed by the author, Adin Baber, with inscription: Inscribed to my loyal cousin, Asa Baber Greathouse Jr., with affection, Adin Baber, Nov. 7, 1968. | Baber was a descendent of Abraham Lincoln and an important contributor to his genealogy and biography. The book itself, the definitive reference on the early surveying career of Lincoln, lead to the installation of the Lincoln the Surveyor statue in New Salem, Illinois. VERY GOOD. Shows a touch of dust to the edges, a small light toning mark at the front paste-down, otherwise the binding is strong and tight, the text and plates are clean and unmarked, and the boards remain bright and distinct. As pictured.
