A Literary Feast is an excellent book, a gathering of stories, essays, and excerpts that expound upon the art of eating. These 27 pieces were chosen for their literary quality and the pleasures they explore. Authors include James Joyce, Isak Dinesen, Virginia Woolf, Ernest Hemingway, Ludwig Bemelmans, Thomas Pynchon, V.S. Pritchett--there's even a story by Zelda Fitzgerald. This is a copy of its first printing. There is an attractive bookplate on the inside front cover; you can either steam it off or put a label with your name on it over the signature. There is still some price tag glue on the front cover. But there are no marks of any kind in or on it--there isn't even any shelfwear.
It is in near-mint condition.
