In Spanish. 1943 Tipografia Nacional (Guatemala), two 6 1/4 x 9 inches tall hardcover volumes, red cloth boards over red leather spines and tips, four raised bands and gilt lettering to spines, blue ribbon marker sewn in, [v.1] xvii, 308; [v.2] [8], 448 pp. (781 pages total.) Slight soiling, rubbing and edgewear to covers. On the bottom of both spines, in gilt letters, the name of the prior owner who had these volumes bound, Murdo J. MacLeod (b. 1935), a Scottish historian of Latin America, who published extensively on the history of colonial-era Central America, the Caribbean, and the Atlantic world. 1944 Guatemala prior owner name to the half title pages of both volumes. Otherwise, apart from moderate age toning, a very good set - clean and unmarked - of this scarce collection.
