London: Constable & Co. Ltd,, 1917. An attractively bound copy First Rackham edition, signed limited issue, number 15 of 525 copies signed by the artist. A publisher's note describes how this collection, "together with the selection we published some years ago... make a total of one hundred stories which include, it is thought, all the best of the Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm" (p. v). Quarto (305 x 235 mm). Late 20th-century grey crushed morocco, raised bands, black morocco spine label, spine lettered in gilt and decorated in four compartments in gilt, portion of original cloth to front cover, covers ruled in gilt, top edge gilt, fore and bottom edges untrimmed, retaining original front endpapers, tan rear endpapers. With 13 tipped-in colour plates, including frontispiece, and black and white illustrations to the text, all by Rackham. Spine and edges slightly faded, couple of marks to rear cover, a very good copy in an attractive binding. Riall, p. 129.
