Sobre este artículo

UK.slim, landscape 12mo HB,Pop-up,1st edn thus. [Retold, abridged(?) from The Pony Engine by Mabel C. Bragg, (US), George C. Doran. Originally, first published by The Platt & Munk Co. Inc.,New York,1930.Reprinted several times, the 1st edn particulary in 1930 in several states' edns,1945, 1954,1961 and 1984 - this edn,the first published British edn thus,as a Pop-up.] FINE.No owner inscrptn and price removal from rear board.Bright,crisp,clean,sharp-cornered, wrap-around,colour pictorial illustrated paper-covered boards,by Richard Walz, with capitalised,black-lettered title and re-telling author credit to front board; spine/backstrip with black lettered title and publisher's name, rear board with continuation of colour pictorial illustration of train pulling several carriages with various animals and other characters aboard the train - a clown as the train driver. Negligible shelf-wear,bumping or creasing to edges and corners - no nicks, tears or splits present. Contents bright, tight, generally clean overall - despite some minimal but faint, sporadic foxing - all 4 tabs and rotating wheel intact and working,no nicks, tears or damage to the 4 pop-ups. Retold by Matty Piper, colour illustrated by Richard Walz nd design and paper engineering by Keith Moseley. Visually the exterior is exceptional and even internally,is in a more than acceptable condition/state of preservationa nd presentation for a book of its near 40 year-old ag and nature, i.e. a child's ephemeral Pop-up book. It is only the minimal fault described that prevents a higher grading. Nevertheless and despite that,it really is still an exceptional example for its cleanliness, brightness, completeness and entirety and also the lack of damage and/or detracting faults. Richard Walz is a published US author and an illustrator of children's books. Some of the published credits include many humorous historical Step into Reading books. He has also worked on Sesame Street and Muppet Show storybooks, also contributing to Sesame Street Magazine in the early 1990s. Self-trained as a commercial artist, and a contemporary British paper engineer,Keith Moseley made his first pop-ups in the late 1950's for Bancroft, the London firm that also distributed Kubašta's works. In the mid-1970s,he relocated to California to work for Waldo Hunt's Intervisual Communications, then America's most prolific and prestigious producer of pop-up books.Subsequently, Moseley became a free-lance designer, eventually forming his own pop-up production company (Compass Productions) with another former Intervisual Communications paper engineer,Dick Dudley.Today, Moseley continues to produce exquisite pop-ups from his home in North Yorkshire.
