Small black cloth hardcover with leather spine, gold lettering on spine and front cover, covers elaborately embossed design, original 1861 edition/printing, Carlton & Lanahan; many nice engravings and maps. Cover in nice condition except heavy rubbing along edges of leather spine, sound binding, no marks or writing, small minor dampstain inside front cover, moderate foxing on many pages.
