Sobre este artículo
Boston: Crosby and Nichols Circa 1850's. Brown cloth that has been stamped/imprinted with a vertical zigzag and border with gilt illustration and title imprinted on the front cover. Only the title "LITTLE LIZZIE AND THE FARIES" imprinted on the front cover and interestingly, it is spelled "FARIES" on the cover and "Fairies" on the title page. Head and foot of backstrip frayed, Pp. 68, with general title and contents leaf referring to the title Six Pleasant Companions ..., frontispiece, title-page and contents leaf referring to the present collection of articles, and numerous text woodcut illustrations. The full title adds the words "And Other Tales." which are by various contributors, many unidentified. Sadly, a child has marked extensively in pencil on all the endplates, frontispiece, title page, flyleafs, etc. Any place that has the actual stories, though, has no pencil markings. However, a crayon was also used on the blank page following page 54 and to color two illustrations on pages 10 and 45, and the words Six Pleasant Companions on the flyleaf have been colored. There is an open tear on page 11 at the top. Part of the back flyleaf has been torn off and the hinges are shaken at the front and back endplates. There may have been some insect damage, a couple of tiny holes in the hinge on the outside spine, but if so, no insects now. Foxing and spotting on multiple pages. I have tried to describe it accurately and it is sold as is, but for its age and rarity, a good book from a non-smoking household. Pictures available upon request. We ship daily.. Decorative Cloth. Fair/No Jacket. Illus. by Pickersgill, Frecerick R., Alfred Elmore, and Others. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
