Sobre este artículo

New York, NY: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1943. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Only date on copyright page is 1943. There is a gift inscription dated 1957. This is a very early example, possible a first printing. The cloth shows some edge-wear along the top. The owner's inscription reads "T____ B____ from John ________, May 13th/57". The dedication page (to Leon Werth) has a couple of edge-tears about 1/2"with associated creasing and slight loss. Also, the following page has one short tear, under 1/2". The text block has minor staining to the top-edge. The rest of the book is without any significant flaws. The dust jacket is not clipped and show the $3.75 price. The jacket shows expected darkening and soiling and a cup ring. Also, there is some chipping along the top-edge near the head of the spine, with about .25" loss. Also a .5" tear near the head of the spine. This is one of the more complete early dust jackets that we have seen of this book. Please request photos.
