She was released to to study in Paris and inadvertently assisted the Resistance. She was betrayed and imprisoned in solitary confinement by the Gestapo for 5 months. Eventually she was re-united with her family in 1944. It was only after seeing her name in Trepper's account of the "Red Orchestra" that she realized what she had been involved in.
