1933 hardcover as pictured. A nice copy of the The Beacon Hill Bookshelf edition of the Alcott classic. Binding is intact though front hinge is lightly cracked at frontispiece. Black cloth boards with gold stamping on spine show some edge wear and slight fraying at corners. Paste on illustration on front board is faded and scuffed. Illustrated endpapers are tanned. Antique book plate on FEP. Inscribed and dated on reverse of frontispiece. Text appears clean and unmarked. Includes 8 color illustrations by Jessie Wilcox Smith. No dust jacket. Sinopsis
Little Women (or Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy) is a novel by American author Louisa May Alcott (1832–1888). Written and set in the Alcott family home, Orchard House, in Concord, Massachusetts, it was published in two parts in 1868 and 1869. The novel follows the lives of four sisters—Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March—and is loosely based on the author's childhood experiences with her three sisters.
