The corners of the covers & the tail of the spine are rubbed. The dust jacket is lightly chipped around the edges with its spine slightly faded. 95 pages plus colophon. Very good. <p>First edition.<p>This collection of short stories is inscribed to Alex Roth and signed in full by Nancy Willard on the front endpaper with a quote from Saint-Exupery's Le Petit Prince and a drawing of a horse in purple ink. Laid in is an unsigned, autograph note to Roth scribbled on the bottom of a mechanically reproduced memo: "Alex -- where did you find The Lively Anatomy of God? At a bookshop for Obscure Books?...."<p>Nancy Willard [b. 1936] won the 1982 Newbery Medal for "A Visit to William Blake's Inn".
