The cuts are taken from the edition of 1862. Folio Society re-issue of the biography of the Stephensons, father and son, by Samuel Smiles, first published as a volume in his 'Lives of the Engineers'. Introduction by Eric de Mare. Robert Stephenson (1803ââ¬â1859) was an early railway engineer. The only son of George Stephenson, the "Father of Railways", he built on the achievements of his father. Good in good slip case. Green cloth covered boards with illustrated of early train pasted on front. Light overall scuffing to covers. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Slip case has some light spotting and soiling light overall scuffing. Small tear to paper over the bottom of the spine of the case as well. Overall a good copy.
