Contemporary Full-Leather binding, recased, with gilt decorative borders to fronts and backs. Spines have gilt horizontal divisions. Gilt titles on black labels in 2nd compartments (vol. IV's is missing) and Gilt Vol. No's in 4th compartments. Marbled endpapers. Top page edges Brown. Vol. I, 313 p. pages; Vol II, 308 p.pages; Vol III, 306 p.pages & Vol IV, 340 p. pages. From the Library of Captain Adams, 81st Regiment, his Bookplate on endpapers. Some edge wear. 2 hinges cracked, others sound. Text blocks firm. No inscriptions. Some light browning to plates. An occasional spot of light browning elsewhere. Set weighs 950g. Size: 24mo - over 5" - 5¾" tall
