Sobre este artículo

Paris: Oudin Petit, 1552. Reference: Adams L-1338; French Books 77977; Brunet III 145 ("Edition belle et très correcte...").. Folio (34 cm); [18], 388, 18 leaves only. Defective, lacks 188 leaves of commentary. Bound in later speckled calf, gilt stamped on upper board, gilt title. Edges gilt. Joints split but holding on both boards. Some loss at crown and heel.

Two nearly-identical versions of this imprint came off the press in 1552, one under the name of Michel Vascosani, and this one, with a variant first gathering, naming Oudin Petit as publisher. While Livy's text survives in this copy, the volume of supplementary material (by Heinrich Glarean, Valla, Sabellico, Josse Bade, etc.) is missing. Based in the Basel edition of 1543.

Sobre Rodger Friedman Rare Book Studio

Rodger Friedman Rare Book Studio owes its name and its inspiration to the traditional Italian studio bibliografico. These small antiquarian bookshops, typically run by individuals who combine deep scholarship with a love of the printed object, remind us that underlying the words "study" and "studio" is the Latin term for zeal and devotion, studium. Since 1993, my goal has been to match discerning collectors with extraordinary books and manuscripts.
