Jacket a bit edgeworn, with loss of upper third of rear flap extending into chip at upper left of rear panel. First edition, tight and nice, of this popular survey and tour of historic American homes -- signed large and bold by Vanderbilt in blue ballpoint on the front flyleaf. Vanderbilt (1898-1974), actually Vanderbilt IV, was a newspaper journalist and author of several volumes.
