Spine lightly soiled, bumped at crown, and rubbed at crown and edges; covers shelfworn with corners bumped and split, front cover rubbed at edges, back cover soiled and heavily rubbed with chipping and loss along lower edge, binding pulling loose from backstrip from weight of text block, page edges lightly tanned and foxed, front hinge cracked, short tear at fore-edge of one leaf, rear hinge starting, rippling at outer edge of rear pastedown and fore-edges of free endapper and last few leaves. With printed presentation slip from Mexican President Luis Echeverria paperclipped to upper edge of front free endpaper; paperclip has left rust marks at top of pastdown and halftitle page.
