A very good plus, bright, tight pleasing copy. Original publisher's burgundy pebbled cloth boards - gilt embossed to the spine and to the front board. Upper edge gilt. Board edges bevelled. No jacket. No split hinges. Virtually no fading to the spine. 22 plates as called for and many other illustrations in the text. Some light rubbing to the head and tail of the spine and to the cloth board corners. Several light bumps to the board edges. A very good plus well preserved copy of a heavy tome, which often comes tired.
