With 60 fine colourplates from the paintings of numerous highly respected artists, and with a folding map. Large 8vo, publisher's original red cloth, the upper cover lettered and decorate with the city's Coat of Arms in yellow, the spine lettered in gilt and decorated with shields in yellow. viii, 312pp. A very good, fresh and attractive copy, the text and binding solid and tight. A WONDERFULLY ILLUSTRATED WORK ON JOLLY OLD LONDON, illustrated with 60 very fine colourplates, the first edition only had 32 thus this is by far the more desirable issue. Moncrieff's extensive and highly readable text takes us all around the town, from St. Paul's to Charing Cross, the Strand, Westminster, through the various parks and palaces, the East and West Ends and even to the various suburbs.
