The London Vocabulary, English and Latin is an interesting early nineteenth-century dictionary, intended for schools and children to learn the English and Latin languages. Organised alphabetically. Written by James Greenwood a noted proponent of female education.Here in the original burlap which very rarely survives. The twenty-second edition of this work. Illustrated with twenty-six in-text engravings, collated and complete. Containing a few contemporary ink signatures to the front pastedown and front free-endpaper, dated 1817. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, sound, with some shelf wear and a few ink marks to the rear board. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. A small split to the cloth at the head of the front joint. Containing a few contemporary ink signatures to the front pastedown and front free-endpaper, dated 1817. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
