New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1940. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good-. Paul Laune. Vintage book with dust jacket, very good condition. Dust jacket is good+ to VG- condition, with a couple of spots and some edge wear, especially at spine; small chips at top on rear and on rear flap; now in new removable protective cover. Tan cloth covered boards with red print on spine and front, and red Lone Ranger illustration also on front. Endpapers are dark red illustration on cream paper, showing Lone Ranger on Silver being shot at from ambush. Frontispiece on glossy paper. Grosset and Dunlap hard cover with dust jacket, copyright 1939 but printing probably 1940 - 1941; 214 pages, illustrations by Paul Laune. 12mo (5"" x 7.5"") 4th in Lone Ranger series, followed by The Lone Ranger and Tonto. Series lists on dust jacket to #5 The Lone Ranger and Tonto, published in 1940, but not #6 The Lone Ranger at the Haunted Gulch, published in 1941. Also, when the US entered the second world war, Grosset and Dunlap stopped using cloth covered boards and stopped printing frontispieces on glossy paper.
