Sobre este artículo

London: W. H. Allen, 1959. First edition of his first book. Nine related stories including the title one which was the basis for the 1962 film of the same name with screenplay by Sillitoe. A poor Nottingham teenager with bleak prospects turns to long-distance running for emotional and physical escape. Very good to near fine with fading to cloth edges and minor offet along hinges but otherwise crisp and bright; in like dust jacket with price clipped, few stains near base of rear panel, and just a touch of wear to head of spine and corners.

Sinopsis

Alan Sillitoe was born in 1928, the son of a tannery worker. He left school at age fourteen to work in a factory. He was one of the working-class novelists who revitalized British fiction in the 1950s. His first novel Saturday Night and Sunday Morning was followed with the bestselling collection The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner . He adapted both works for the screen in the early 1960s. He is the author of more than 40 works of prose, poetry, and drama.
