A collection of columns orginally published in a variety of magazines, including The Atlantic Monthly, The New Yorker, The Readers Digest, and Good Housekeeping. These essays were originally published between 1930 and 1943. Book shows some wear at the corners and along the edges. Most significantly is a tear in the spine along the back edge from the top and then across just above the half-way point, creating a loose flap. (see photo #3. I have secured the flap with a piece of removable double sided tape to avoid further damage.) Red covers have fadeed to brown over the spine. Deckle-edged pages are clean, tight and unmarked. This is a fairly rare book.
