This lively memoir tells the story of Margaret Gee's family, spanning 3 generations living on land in picturesque North Eastern Victoria near Beechworth. It is a compelling portrait of one Australian family, a vivid impression of their proud history and a tasty slice of rural life. It also tells the story of the author's father who survive the rigours of the great depression, before leaving the bush and joining the Navy, where he survived the sinking of HMAS Perth, in 1942, and was taken prisoner by the Japanese, passing through Changi prison before being sent to work on the Burma railway. there is on the 1st page a Christmas gift note to dear dad, no other damage to describe.
